The Banarasi Edit
Box clutches cut from Banarasi silk — the brocade woven in Varanasi with real metallic zari. Some are patchwork, panels of different weaves joined by hand so no two pieces fall alike. Others are buti or jaal: one colour, worked over with a small repeated motif or a fine gold lattice.
All of them are built on a structured frame with a gold-tone clasp and a detachable chain, so they carry as a clutch through dinner and go crossbody when your hands are full of diyas and sweets.

What does pre-booking mean, and do I pay now?
You pay nothing today. Pre-booking reserves a piece from the Diwali run in your name. You leave your name, email, phone and address at checkout, the total stays at zero, and no card details are requested. We contact you with the final price and dispatch date before anything is made.
Why does the price show as zero?
Because this is a booking, not a sale. The clutches are woven to order for Diwali, so we take your reservation first and confirm pricing with you directly before production.
Am I committed to buying?
No. A pre-booking holds a piece for you and tells us how many to weave. You confirm and pay only after we come back to you.
What is a Banarasi box clutch?
A structured, hard-framed evening bag covered in Banarasi brocade — silk woven in Varanasi with metallic zari thread. The frame keeps its shape through a full evening, unlike a soft potli or pouch.
How long does delivery take?
Dispatch is 15–20 days from the date you pre-book. Bulk and customised runs can take longer, and we confirm the date with you before you commit.
How many pieces are made of each design?
Each design is limited to 30 pieces. Once those are taken, that design closes for the season rather than being restocked.
What is the difference between patchwork, buti and jaal?
Patchwork joins panels of several different Banarasi weaves on one bag. Buti is a single colour scattered with one small repeated motif. Jaal is an all-over gold lattice with a flower inside each diamond. Choose patchwork or jaal when your outfit is simple, buti when it is already heavily worked.
Do the clutches come with a chain?
Yes. Every clutch in this collection includes a detachable gold-tone chain, so it works hand-held or as a crossbody or shoulder bag.
What fits inside a Sache box clutch?
A standard smartphone, a card holder, a lipstick, keys and a folded stole. These are sized for an evening out rather than for daily carry.
Are these handmade?
Yes. Each clutch is assembled by hand by artisans in India. Slight variation in panel placement between pieces is expected and is part of the craft.
How do I care for a Banarasi zari clutch?
Spot clean with a dry cloth only. Do not wash, soak or dry clean — water and solvents dull the zari. Store it in the dust bag provided, away from direct sunlight.
