The clean and considered wedding of Aditi Rao, an architect, and Vikram Menon, a product designer, was a quiet masterclass in restraint. Held at a private farmhouse on the outskirts of Bangalore, and designed by Still Waters Events, the celebration stripped everything back to its essence: honest materials, living plants, natural light, and two people in love in front of everyone they cared about.
Wedding Planning
Lakshmi Suresh of Still Waters Events shares, "Aditi sent me a single photograph as reference — a Japanese garden in autumn. No colour, no excess, just space and intention. Everything we did was in service of that silence."
Haldi
The haldi was a small family-only gathering on the farmhouse lawn at 7am. Clay pots, banana leaves, and a simple cotton canopy overhead. Aditi wore a white mul cotton saree with a thin yellow border. Her only accessory was a small hand-woven clutch in natural jute with a turmeric-dyed flap, sourced from a Bangalore sustainable collective. For a similarly earthy, minimal haldi look, our Marigold Yellow Organza Zari Batua offers the perfect balance of handcrafted warmth and simplicity. The Cream Potli is a beautifully restrained choice for brides who want something understated yet crafted with care.
Wedding Ceremony
The ceremony took place on the farmhouse's grass terrace at 10am, while the light was still soft. Sixty guests sat on cushions on the grass. Aditi wore a hand-woven ivory silk saree with the thinnest gold zari border. As the pheras concluded, she held a custom linen and gold clutch — its surface embossed with a delicate botanical print. For brides who want that same quiet luxury, our Kundan Embellished Suede Box Clutch in muted tones is an ideal bridal companion for minimalist ceremonies. The Patola Ikat Tissue Silk Potli with pearl handle is another handcrafted treasure that speaks softly but leaves a lasting impression.
Reception
The reception lunch was long, leisurely, and full of honest conversation. Tables were dressed with living herb plants as centrepieces. A single guitarist played softly. For a relaxed garden lunch reception, our Summer Prints Collection 2026 offers light, vibrant clutch options that feel right at home in a sun-dappled farmhouse setting. The Birds Summer Print Clutch is a particularly charming choice for a nature-forward, garden celebration.
