The breezy and luminous wedding of Kavya Nair, a marine biologist, and Siddharth Pillai, a documentary filmmaker, felt less like an event and more like an exhale. Held at a privately curated beachfront in South Goa, the celebration was orchestrated by Coastal Vows by Ananya — a boutique planning studio known for its light touch and deep respect for natural surroundings. The palette was entirely drawn from the shore itself: bleached white, warm sand, and the silver-blue of the Arabian Sea at dusk.
Wedding Planning
Ananya Desai of Coastal Vows says, "Kavya told me she didn't want anything that felt like a wedding set. She wanted it to feel like the beach was always going to look this way — and we just happened to be celebrating there." Driftwood installations, potted succulents, and linen drapes that moved with the sea wind made that vision real.
Haldi
The haldi was an intimate gathering on the sand, shaded by a canopy of marigold strings and banana leaves. The bride wore a hand-woven cotton saree in pale yellow. Kavya carried a small woven clutch with delicate shell embellishments — a nod to the Goa shore. Wedding Ceremony
The ceremony took place at golden hour. Two rows of low wooden benches faced the sea, each draped with white muslin and topped with a single white lotus.
